As a native New Orleanian I find it isn't what you say, it's how you say it. Before I say anymore, my photography education comes from the Art Institute of Houston. Graduated in nineteen ninety three with a portfolio in Portrait photography. Since then I've been looking for that "portfolio shot." That photograph that will live in a timeless space of humanity. A photograph that will make you smile. That will make you think. The photograph you want to hug, enjoy for ever.

As a freelance photographer I find time to move across the city and across the states enjoying festivals and places of interest. In my travels I have come to understand what the people tell you about themselves is the image you will capture in their portrait. Editorial portrait is what they may not tell you in the conversation.

So goes the conversation of give and take within the human race. Given permission for a photograph by many, and taking a few photographs of inner thoughts of others.
